I always marvel at the clothing people wore in the last century. Look at the layers that Clarence O. M. Strader has on for this portrait–an overcoat, suitcoat, vest–and they were probably all wool. None of that polyester, synthetic fabrics here!

The funny thing about this photo is what is written on the back. It says, “Daddy, age 20. Had been drinking when this was taken.” Ah to know what was behind the frozen face of my great grandfather.
